Some years ago in my early journey as a Beleiver in Christ, I had a dream and in that dream I was sent to a city in Africa, called Accra. In that city I noticed there were buildings near the seashore that reminded me of an island view and there were people walking the streets going about their daily lives.
I saw a white building, smiliar to that of a little concrete structure; it represented a building where the church gathered. Then I began to see through an eye, it's like my vision became magnified while looking at the people through this eye.
They were of Indian descent, I would even say from the middle eastern nations. However i saw a small family, and a young man. This young man began to speak to me as if to give me an outline of what they were facing in the country.
I immediately woke up from the dream not sure what to make of it. First I had never heard of Accra or knew anything about the people living there. I begun to get this deep conviction in my belly for the people and the city, I asked the Holy Spirit if it was somewhere he was sending me or was it a reflection of my life. Needless to say, I prayed for the city and the people.
I have had similar dreams where I would be in an African city or in some cases villages, where I would see horrible things happening to women and young girls there. It broked my heart, one night I woke up crying pefusely where it hurt so much.
Over the years I have come to realize that God through dreams and visions, would take us into cities and nations that we may have never visited or heard of, he would show us people near and far that we may never ever meet in person, different life senerios that may not ever make any sense to us; but there are things going on somewhere in the world that requires you and I to pray. To intercede on someone else's behalf.
We have this privilege in prayer that has so much effectiveness and we sometimes take it for granted.
The power of prayer, it can change the heart of kings and turn nations around.
When you see or hear things in the spirit, don't take it lightly, seek the Holy Spirit for guidance and pray concerning the matter. You could just be saving someone's life.
Esther 4:14
For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Matthew 18:19
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
