Isaiah 6:1
It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple.
I would never forget the first time this scripture became real to me. I was struggling internally with a decision that would not only change my life but it would have affected people that I loved dearly.
I remembered falling to sleep at about two am that Monday morning, after questioning God as to what he would have me do. I had a dream, in that dream I heard the scripture Isaiah 6:1 and I was told to read it and then I saw what was about to take place the following morning.
I jumped up early Tuesday morning about five AM. I waited before the Lord and he said there was a death that was going to take place. The scripture became so clear to me. Needless to say I followed the instructions given to me and the outcome did make a significant change in my life.
You see I held a person in such high regard that I could not see their faults, even if I did I felt like they were in such a place that nothing would be able to touch them. My eyes were blinded and my vision clouded. I would make the word of this person my final authority and I believed God allowed it.
It was only after a prophet prophecied that the scales be removed from my eyes that I began to see and had to ask God what do I do now. He showed me that this person had become an idol in my life and it's only after the death of the idol would I began to truly see him.
In the death process of that idol, my heart was ripped in pieces, because I loved them dearly. I could not sleep, my mind wrestled with the decision but I knew it was the right decision. God had prepared me to not only see him for myself but I began to hear him clearly.
It's unrecognizible when it happens, but it's easy to erect idols in our lives, these idols can take the form of people, like our spouse, our children, our pastors or any person that we give all of our attention to other then God. Our occupations, material things and habits could also becomes idols.
Allow God to be the first and the last in your life. Beginning and ending of your satisfaction. He is jealous for you.
